Why I started writing here
Almost every workday, I spend my hours looking for things that are not quite right. A button that does nothing when you press it. A number that should be zero but somehow shows two. A screen that only breaks on one particular phone. Testing taught me to notice in a way I can't switch off, even when I'm nowhere near a computer.
But the things I notice don't stay inside bug reports. A lot of them are really questions (“why is it like this?”) or a small nudge that says “someone might want to hear this.” Those thoughts used to disappear with the day. I wanted a real place to keep them.
The next question was why my own site, when there are so many places to publish. My answer is simple: I want to own the space. I want to control every pixel, the same way I want to understand a system deeply enough to test it. Having my own home on the internet gives me that same feeling.
So I built this site with Next.js, by hand. For me, building something myself is a way to test my own understanding. If I can't explain it to a machine, I probably don't understand it well enough yet.
From here on, I plan to write about testing, the tools I try, the mistakes I learn from, and sometimes things with nothing to do with work at all. If you've read this far, thank you, truly. See you in the next one.
